Bridge International Academies Shortlisted For Prestigious CIO100 Awards 2023

Bridge International Academies, has been shortlisted for the prestigious CIO100 Awards 2023.

The award, now in its 16th year, recognizes the top CIOs in Africa for their outstanding IT initiatives that have transformed their organizations and the African tech ecosystem.

In a statement on Monday, Bridge Kenya Managing Director Griffin Asigo welcomed the recognition saying that it will entrench their spot as change-makers in the tech-driven education sector.

This is a significant milestone for not only Bridge International Academies but also for the education sector as a whole, said Mr. Asigo the Managing Director, Bridge Kenya.

It showcases our ability to use technology to progress and truly provide quality education, setting an example for the entire continent to follow.

Bridge Academies was contesting for the spot with other 600 institutions and now joins already recognised firms like Safaricom and NCBA bank who have received accolades for their contributions to finding tech-driven solutions in Kenya.

Honoring and recognizing these innovators is pivotal because it signifies the direction we are headed in, which is leveraging technology and data in everything we do, Mr Asigo added.

So far, Bridge International Academies has formulated ways of utilizing technology and integrating it into their daily operations of delivering quality education to underserved communities.

A good example is how teachers are using low-cost and low-maintenance devices to deliver lessons in both urban and remote regions to bridge the education gap in Kenya.

Our custom tablets can work for up to ten days on a single charge, and our system requires only a 2G connection. It’s been designed for rugged hardware and local IT support and repair, ensuring the technology remains functional in even the most marginalized communities, Mr Asigo said.

Our learning materials, both digital and printed, are aligned to the National Curriculum. We provide customized digital teacher guides and lesson plans for every lesson in every subject and class every day, ensuring a tailored approach to education.

Bridge International was started in 2008 and had around 750,000 students in its schools by 2022.
