Bridge Launches Feeding Initiative to Boost Learning Through Nutrition
Nairobi, Kenya (October 23, 2025) – Bridge International Academies Foundation has today launched a new school feeding initiative, “One Cup, One Future” at Bridge Kinoo in Nairobi County. This initiative is centered on providing a nutritious cup of uji to pupils in lower grades, helping them begin their school day well-nourished, alert, and ready to learn. It is designed to enhance focus, improve attendance, and support better learning outcomes for every child.
For many children across low-income communities, hunger remains one of the most persistent barriers to education. Pupils often arrive at school without breakfast, making it difficult to focus during lessons or participate fully in class. Teachers report that learners who receive a morning meal show noticeable improvements in alertness, confidence, and academic engagement.
The launch marked the beginning of a broader plan to roll out a sustainable school feeding programme across Bridge academies in Kenya. The Foundation’s long-term vision is to create a consistent, community-supported model that meets pupils’ nutritional needs and enhances attendance, concentration, and learning outcomes.
Through this initiative, the Foundation aims to provide 50,000 cups of nutritious Uji during its first phase of implementation. Each cup will cost just Kes. 15 to sponsor, yet its impact on a child’s education is immeasurable.
The launch event at Bridge Academy – Kinoo brought together teachers, pupils, parents, community leaders, and partners who shared a common belief: that good nutrition is foundational to good education. It represents a renewed commitment to transforming how children learn and thrive in Kenya. The One Cup, One Future, will step toward removing hunger as a barrier to classroom participation and achievement. The initiative also ensures that every child attends school and stays alert, engaged, and ready to learn.
Bridge International Academies Foundation invites corporate partners, development organizations, and individual sponsors to be part of this transformative effort. Every contribution directly supports access to nutrition but as a foundation for improved learning and attendance.
Sponsor as low as Kes. 15 today to M-Pesa Paybill: 123125, Account: Uji
