Our April cohort of trainee teachers and Academy Managers successfully completed a two-week intensive induction programme held in Nakuru, concluding over the weekend.
The programme brought together 56 trainees drawn from both teaching and school leadership pathways. It was designed to provide a strong foundation for effective classroom instruction and school leadership across our academies.
Strengthening Teaching and Leadership Practice
Throughout the two-week period, participants engaged in structured learning sessions focused on strengthening core areas of practice. These included classroom instruction, lesson delivery, learner engagement, and the fundamentals of effective school leadership.
The training emphasised practical application, ensuring that trainees not only understood key concepts but also developed the confidence and capability to apply them in real school environments.
Building Readiness for School Deployment
A key focus of the induction was preparing trainees for deployment across our academies. The programme was structured to build consistency in practice, strengthen instructional quality, and reinforce leadership expectations within our school system.
Through guided facilitation, collaborative learning, and hands-on engagement, trainees were exposed to real scenarios that reflect everyday teaching and leadership responsibilities.
Voices from the Training
The induction experience was shaped by both trainee participation and facilitator guidance. One of the trainees reflected on the experience, saying:
“This programme has given me practical confidence in classroom delivery and a clearer understanding of what effective teaching and leadership require in a real school environment.”
Facilitators also highlighted the importance of structured induction in preparing educators for impact within classrooms and school leadership roles.
Looking Ahead
With the completion of this induction programme, the cohort now moves closer to deployment across our academies. Their preparation marks an important step in strengthening teaching quality and leadership capacity within our school network.
We look forward to seeing them apply their learning in classrooms and school environments, contributing to improved learner outcomes and sustained educational impact.
