Strengthening ECDE Systems in Kenya’s Frontier Counties through Strategic Partnerships

April 28, 2026 Bridge Kenya Team Education

Our Group Managing Director, Reuben W. Mwangi, held strategic discussions with the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC Kenya), led by CEO Idle Omar Farah, alongside key stakeholders including Hanif Poona and Francis Salu. The engagement focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) systems across Kenya’s Frontier Counties.

The discussions provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange on approaches to improving foundational learning outcomes through structured, technology-enabled learning models. Drawing from our experience in delivering scalable education solutions, we shared insights on how digital learning approaches can support improved access, consistency in instruction, and enhanced learner engagement at the ECDE level.

A key area of focus was the importance of strengthening teacher capacity through continuous professional development, supported by practical tools and structured learning frameworks that enable effective classroom delivery. The dialogue also emphasized the role of data-driven decision-making in tracking learner progress and informing education interventions at both classroom and system levels.

The engagement further explored opportunities to align with county-led priorities, including the integration of digital content into ECDE classrooms, strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems, and supporting more effective tracking of learning outcomes across schools.

In addition, the discussions highlighted the importance of co-creating an inclusive and sustainable EdTech ecosystem. This includes leveraging partnerships between government institutions, development partners, and the private sector to ensure long-term sustainability, equity, and local ownership in education transformation efforts.

We remain committed to advancing this engagement into a structured partnership that delivers measurable and lasting impact for young learners across Kenya’s Frontier region, ensuring that every child has access to quality foundational learning opportunities.
